1. It starts without being asked
Lunar notices the call starting and offers to record — so a decision is never lost because the one person who always takes notes was off that day. It captures mic and system audio on the machine it runs on: no bot to admit, no link to paste, no shared account to manage.
2. Ask instead of scrubbing back
Joined twenty minutes late because it is midnight where you are? Ask what they decided without making anyone recap for you. Live in-meeting chat answers from the transcript as it is being written — recap the last ten minutes, list the action items so far, check whether your area came up at all.
3. The follow-up is already done
Afterwards everyone gets the same summary: decisions and action items, no filler. The action items become Jira issues in the right project — review, click, done — and whoever slept through the call is caught up in ninety seconds instead of ninety minutes.

Frequently asked questions
Does everyone on the team need to install it?
No. One person recording is enough for the whole team to get the summary. Anyone who does install it also gets live in-meeting chat on their own calls.
What about the people who never join the call?
That is rather the point. They get the summary and the action items land in their backlog, and the transcript is searchable if they want the exact wording of something.
Will a bot join our calls?
No. Lunar is a desktop app that captures the microphone and system audio directly. Nothing appears in the participant list — Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, or any other call.
Does this actually reduce the number of meetings?
It removes the reason for two of the common ones: the meeting held again for whoever missed it, and the sync that existed only to confirm what had already been decided.
How is Lunar different from Otter, Fireflies, or Granola?
Bot-based tools like Otter and Fireflies join the call as a visible participant and process the audio in their cloud. Granola records bot-free but its output is a note. Lunar combines bot-free capture, local-first sessions, and Jira-native output: decisions become issues in the backlog your whole team already reads, whatever hour they read it at.
